Men’s Volleyball Bests Dominican University of New York, 3-1

In a thrilling evening at the Malkin Athletic Center, the No. 19 Harvard men's volleyball team (11-6, 3-1 EIVA) celebrated its return home to the MAC with a clear-cut 3-1 victory over Dominican University New York (10-10, 2-1 ECC). The win marked its second consecutive successful weekend of play.


Volleyball Posts Mixed Performance Against Princeton

Despite falling to Princeton in straight-sets on Friday, the Harvard men’s volleyball team (6-5, 3-1 EIVA) bounced back against its conference foe to upset the Tigers 3-1 in the second game of the series. The Friday loss marked the end of the squad’s four-game win streak, but the team was able to find some momentum heading into more intense conference play with its Saturday comeback.


Harvard Men’s Volleyball Struggles Out of the Gate This Season

The Harvard men’s volleyball team (3-4) got off to a tough start this season, losing four of its first five matchups against mostly high-ranked teams before bouncing back with two wins last weekend.


Stone Cold on the Road: Crimson Sweeps NJIT in Final Away Games

Redemption came calling for the long-patient Harvard (9-13, 2-6 EIVA) men’s volleyball team this past weekend, as the team prevailed against the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) (8-16, 2-7 EIVA) to snatch two back-to-back wins.

On Feb. 1 in 2019, the Harvard men's volleyball team competes against Ball State University, which the Crimson lost 3-2. Harvard has two more games, both against George Mason, before it will head to the EIVA Tournament from Apr. 19-22.


The Lion's Roar

In February of 2020, the Harvard men's volleyball team takes on then-No. 9 Penn State at the Malkin Athletic Center, which it went on to lose 3-0 to the Lions. This past weekend, the Crimson faced the Pennsylvania school once again, losing in a pair of 3-0 matches.


Go Fish: Harvard Men's Volleyball Loses to No. 3 Penn State Despite Impressive Back-and-Forth Sets

For a crowd that started off the game screaming “Go Fish!”, its constituents ended the match playing a very different game: dodgeball. Electrifying weekend sets between Harvard and Penn State led to amazing plays on the court and free-flying balls off of it –– as onlookers dodged rogue high-speed torpedoes deflected from the action.


Hit Me Baby One More Time

In April 2022, the Harvard men's volleyball team battled Charleston in a home game at the Malkin Athletic Center, eventually losing in a pair of 1-3 and 2-3 losses to the Golden Eagles. This past weekend, the team faced off against Charleston in West Virginia, once again being defeated in two 3-0 matches.


Sweep or Be Swept: Harvard Men’s Volleyball Swept in Back-to-Back 3-0 Losses

In a season of “sweep or be swept,” Harvard men’s volleyball has been keeping with the trend well, though not always on the victor’s side. The team left Charleston, W.V. this past weekend having lost both games 3-0, swept in their first EIVA league games of the season.


Harvard Men’s Volleyball Breaks Losing Streak with 3-0 Win Over Merrimack

With a crowd of just 105 people on a Wednesday night, Harvard men’s volleyball played through one of their smallest home game attendances so far this season – but certainly not the least exciting. The team came into their match against Merrimack under the weight of a two-game losing streak and emerged victorious – in more ways than one.

Harvard’s Playoff Bid Cut Short by New Jersey Institute of Technology

The Harvard men’s volleyball team fell to New Jersey Institute of Technology on Thursday at University Park, P.A., in the semifinals of the 2022 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association tournament. The match was the Crimson’s first trip to the playoffs since it won the tournament in 2018.

Seniors Eric Li, Campbell Schoenfeld, and Jason Shen guard the backcourt against an incoming serve in a match against Charleston. The trio provided kills, digs, and leadership consistently throughout the team’s successful season


Harvard Men’s Volleyball Claims Ivy League Championship After Back-to-Back Victories Against Princeton

The last point of the Harvard men’s volleyball team’s Ivy League matchup with Princeton on Saturday was also its longest, with Princeton hitters sending the Crimson scrambling past the press box and to the back wall of the Malkin Athletic Center to keep the ball in play. At the end of the 40-second rally, however, Harvard emerged victorious, sealing a decisively successful double-header weekend against the Tigers and its fourth-straight win.


Men’s Volleyball Ends Preseason with Loss to Purdue Fort Wayne

The Harvard men’s volleyball team (2-4) fell to Purdue Fort Wayne (6-4) on Saturday, abruptly ending the team’s two-game win streak at the Malkin Athletic Center. Shouts and cheers from fans and players alike reverberated through the vaulted ceilings of the MAC’s top floor in the first match of the spring semester but ultimately resulted in a Harvard loss.


Full Circle: Hawaiian Freshmen Reunite at Harvard

Born less than a day apart in the same hospital in Hawaii, Harvard freshmen Buddy Scott and Hong have always been side by side. From preschool and kindergarten through their senior year of high school, the two always had one another. Now, they play together on the Harvard men's volleyball team
