Individual Brilliance: Squash's Crouin and Moataz Shine Bright in CSA Individual Nationals

With two new College Squash Association (CSA) team national championships already in the trophy case, the Harvard squash program set out this weekend to give players their chances to shine at the CSA Individual Nationals. Victor Crouin ended up winning the Pool Trophy, while Hana Moataz came in second in the Ramsay Cup.

Case Closed: Men's Squash Secures Third Straight National Championship

The stage was set for what was bound to be a legendary final for the men’s squash team nationals. With the score tied at four matches even, Harvard’s hopes rested on the shoulders of sophomore Ido Burstein, who managed to claim a straight-sets victory over his Penn challenger to secure the Crimson a third consecutive national championship.


For the third consecutive season, and the 35th time in program history, Harvard men's squash was crowned CSA national champions.


Harvard Women's Squash participates in a Dec. 1 matchup against Dartmouth, a contest in which the Crimson earned an 8-1 victory. The team has yet to lose this season, and carry the No.1 ranking in the country.

Women's and Men's Squash Teams Cruise Over Amherst and Cornell

Coming off of a big win against No.3 Princeton, Harvard Women’s Squash (11-0, 6-0)  earned their No. 1 ranking in a 9-0 sweep against Amherst and a dominant 7-2 victory against Cornell. The victories improved the team’s record to 92-0 in the College Squash Association (CSA). The No.2 Men’s program (10-1, 5-1 Ivy) swept both Cornell and Amherst 9-0, raising its tally of clean sweeps to seven this season.

In what can only be described as dominant, the Harvard men’s squash team routed the competition at every step on its way to the CSA title from Feb. 28, 2020, to March 1, 2020, at the Harvard Murr Center. The team played Drexel, Princeton, and Penn on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on its way to the championship, losing only one match over the entire weekend.

Men's Squash Wins Second Straight Championship

Ripping a volley down the backhand side, sophomore Victor Crouin watched as his opponent, No. 3 University of Pennsylvania’s Andrew Douglas, made a desperate stab at the ball in the back corner. When his return fell short of the front wall, Crouin turned towards the roaring crowd and thumped his chest in triumph.
